There are a lot of people who don’t think of Bali as a luxurious holiday destination. I was one of them, but 9 years ago, I was one of 12 lucky agents to get a spot on a familiarisation.

I changed my mind very quickly once I got there. Sure, the streets are dirty but after all, it is a 3 rd world country. You just need to know where to find the nice spots.
On the west coast of Bali, you will find Kuta, Legian and Seminyak. To find your more luxurious hotels, you will need to stay in Legian or Seminyak. Here you will find beautiful hotels such as the Double Six, W Resort and Alila. In Seminyak, there is an abundance of fantastic restaurants, you will find these on Jalan Kayu Aya, this is also famously known as “eat street”. One of my favourite restaurants on this side of town is Sarong. Your hotel will most likely be in the hustle and bustle of everything. So, you will have the best of both worlds in having a beautiful place to call home along with an array of eateries all within walking distance.
On the east coast of Bali you will find Tanjung Benoa and Nusa Dua. These suburbs are small and much quieter than the west coast. Here, you will want to choose a hotel that has everything in it such as the Mulia.
I love this hotel because it is stunning, right on the beach and you can’t go past their stunning buffet. For a great day out, you should spend a day (or two) at Finns Beach Club, Ku De Ta and Potato Head. Finns is great for a swim and to enjoy beautiful cocktails. Finns is a recreational facility, so there is a kids club and a waterpark to enjoy also. Whilst both Ku De Ta and Potato Head make a great day out, you should spend an afternoon there and watch the sun set with a cocktail.
