LUXURY TRAVEL PLANNER REVIEW - JAL BUSINESS CLASS

Updated: Mar 12, 2020

Arigatou Gozaimasu JAL.

It’s no secret that I have a fondness for Japan and its people. This just grew a hundred folds with Japan Airlines. Everything I love about the Japanese was packaged up and proudly showcased on my flight to London from Melbourne and the return.

Travelling business class on any airline is wonderful but even more special on JAL. Yes, the flight may be a little longer but with the service, food, comfort and did I mention attentive service? JAL wins my vote. Also, at a much better price point than other airlines to Europe.

Each business class seat has aisle access even if the window seats have a little narrower aisle access, but I had no plans of dancing in the aisle, so this was perfect. It’s equipped with all the usual business amenities – comfortable flat beds, the large TV screen, current selection of movies, a wonderful Japanese menu (I skipped the western food but I’m sure it would’ve been just as delicious), the Anytime menu, the comfortable seats, the large pillows oh and one of my favourites – a bidet in the toilets.

At the end of the day the attention to detail and presentation of the food and most of all the friendliness and attentiveness of every single JAL crew won my heart. A member of crew is always on hand when you need something. Even during the red eye flights – they’re pacing the aisles making sure everyone is comfortable. They saw that I was a little cold and offered me another blanket and cardigan (they didn’t give out PJs). I love Japan for all the things the rest of the world forgets and this was in their amenities like their eye mask to sooth tired eyes, face mask to hydrate and moisturise.

I had to change airports in Japan on my return flight. Thought it was going to be a hassle. It wasn’t. I walked out of the gates at Haneda, bought my bus ticket to Narita (you can catch a train that’s faster but I was lazy and didn’t want the hassle of lugging around my bags). I found a shower room just outside the gates. It’s 2500 yen for 30 mins or if you’re on JAL business it’s free. These shower rooms are immaculate and has all the amenities you need to freshen up for another long flight. The little things!

JAL – I can’t wait to fly with you again.
