The world’s first 787-10 touched down in Australia this week

Western Australia’s capital became the second destination, after Osaka, to welcome the newest member of the Dreamliner family, which will operate regularly on flight SQ215/16.

According to Singapore Airlines’ Regional Vice President South West Pacific, Philip Goh, the deployment of the new aircraft to Perth is a testament to the airline’s longstanding connection to the city and its growing popularity.

It could also be part of plans to ‘keep up with Qantas’, which is currently tempting Western Australians to skip the Singapore stopover to Europe with

In addition to receiving a string quartet welcoming at Perth Airport, passengers on the 787-10 enjoyed flying in a brand new aircraft that is longer than its 787-9 predecessor, fits around 40 extra people and is made with lighter to material to fly longer routes.

The aircraft is divided into two classes with full-flat seats in Business Class, contoured backrests in Economy Class and six-way adjustable headrests.

Singapore Airlines will be used on flights of up to eight hours, with more destinations to be added as additional aircraft are received
